Give, and it Shall Be Given to You!

Not too long ago, we received a large contribution of kitchen ware from Michael and Tara who have a shop. Besides filling a great need for these items in our own Centre, we also were able to distribute plates, cups and saucers, etc. to several Family International Volunteer Centres in the greater London area. We also distributed these items to other people and institutions who were very thankful for them. Here a just a few photos:

Bishop Annie Njeri, of the Airport Church Revival Centre, with David and Dawn, receiving boxes of the kitchenware items, as well as about 25 chairs for young children. The Bishop told us that she was looking for a way for the church to be a positive influence in her local community and to integrate more with the neighbours. She got the idea to start a children’s play group and one of the first items on her need’s list was chairs. So when we offered to give her the chairs, she was very happy. She also told us that the church was in need of a proper tea and coffee service, and was very appreciative to receive the boxes which all will be put to good use.

Volunteers from Many Countries

We were happy to help Joe(left) and Gabe(right), who are brothers, as they both stayed with us for some time. Both Joe and Gabe were doing Volunteer work at a Family Centre in Iceland and they stayed with us while they were preparing to move on to new fields of service. We often have Family Volunteers stay with us from all over the world and we are able to offer our services and help. We offer room and board for free and as needed we also help with ticketing, transport to airports or bus stations, internet usage, help obtaining visas, and other business. When possible, we also are able to donate supplies to be brought back to the country they are traveling to. Besides the gratification that we are helping Volunteers get to new fields or back to their field of service, it also is inspiring for us to hear the news from the various countries that our visitors come from. In the last several months we have helped Volunteers in this way from: Ghana, Nigeria, India, China, Iceland, Spain, Lebanon, Uganda, Romania, Ireland and The Netherlands. By God's grace we will continue to help Volunteers in this inspiring way.
